There are 2 different motor power ratings when looking at treadmills:

1) The Peak Duty Rating – This rating expresses the power of the treadmill at its highest performance. Keep in mind that it cannot sustain this peak performance for extended periods.

2) The Continuous Duty Rating – This is a more accurate measure of power because it reflects the steady continuous speed of operation for 24 hours without loss of speed.
